Recent Ribbon Cuttings

As an indication of growth in Jefferson City, the Chamber Ambassadors conduct, upon request, ground breaking and ribbon cutting ceremonies for member and non-member businesses just opening, expanding or moving to a new location.

On Friday, June 20th, Ambassadors and local civic leaders cut the ribbon on one new trail section and broke ground on another, highlighting the fact the city now has 12.1 miles of greenway in play.  Pictured cutting the ribbon on the new greenway at County Park (left) is Chris Wrigley, Western District County Commissioner.  Shown breaking ground (right) for the new section of the greenway are Larry Vincent & Steve Duncan, Jefferson City Parks & Recreation Board, and County Commissioners Chris Wrigley and Pee Wee Forck. Also present is J. J. Gates, Jefferson City Parks & Recreation.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held June 24th to celebrate the grand opening of The Cellular Connection, a local Verizon Wireless premium Retailer and DISH authorized retailer located at 3720 West Truman.  Pictured cutting the ribbon are Katie White, store manager, and Traci Cumpton, Western Missouri Regional Manager.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held June 12th to celebrate the grand opening of Daily Grind Unwind, 1739 Elm Court Plaza, Suite 202.  Pictured cutting the ribbon is Adam Addison, owner.  The Daily Grind Unwind features specialty coffees and daily breakfast and lunch specials.

A June 17th ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the merger of Insurance Solutions of MO into the Winter-Dent Employee Benefits Division.  The combined employee benefits operations are now located in the new office space at 325 Jefferson St. doing business as Winter-Dent Employee Benefits Services.  Pictured cutting the ribbon are Jim Neuner and Gary Havelin.

  A May 30th ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Designer Kitchens & Baths, 2115 Industrial Drive, to celebrate the completion of a remodeling project and the introduction of "Kohler Registered Showroom and Live Viking Kitchen."  Pictured cutting the ribbon is Paul Sneller, manager, along with his staff and Chamber Ambassadors.
A May 27th ribbon cutting ceremony was held to dedicate Jefferson Bank's new colonial gazebo and water fountain given to the Jefferson City greenway as a 40th anniversary gift to the community.  The gazebo is equipped with a bike rack, water fountain for adults, children & the 1st canine-friendly water fountain along the greenway.  Cutting the ribbon is president Dick Wilson.  Also present was president-emeritus Harold Westhues.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on May 28th to celebrate the opening of Prison Brews, a new restaurant/micro-brewery in the Old Towne area.  Prison Brews is located at 305 Ash Street.  Patrons will enjoy the prison theme indoors and the ample outdoor seating area which also offers two bocce ball courts.  Pictured cutting the ribbon are owners Debbie Brown and Bob Stanley.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the new furnishings at the Dorothy Pack Teen Center at the Boys & Girls Club of the Capital City.    Pictured cutting the ribbon is Dee Jones, Program Director, Boys & Girls Club of the Capital City.  Also present was Kevin Holiday, Rent-a-Center. A ribbon cutting ceremony celebrated the opening of the first-ever Micro Business Expo on Monday, May 5th at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. The Expo was a great success with 45 exhibitors. Shown cutting the ribbon is  Ken Littlefield, President, Central Bank - Presenting Sponsor.
 

Chamber Ambassadors participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 7th to celebrate the grand opening of Curves in its new location at 744 West Stadium Plaza (behind Ryan's Cafeteria.) Pictured cutting the ribbon is Suzanne O'Connor. 

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held April 18th to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Missouri River Regional Library and the completion of the library renovations. 

A ribbon cutting ceremony on April 24th celebrated the completion of a remodeling project and the addition of Wingstreet to  Pizza Hut.  Shown cutting the ribbon is Patty Distler, Manager of Pizza Hut Wingstreet, 1431 Christy Drive . Also pictured is Steve Gariepy, Area Manager.

A ribbon cutting ceremony  was held March 27th to celebrate the grand opening of Butterfly Life of Mid-Missouri, 2701 West Edgewood, Suite 106.  Pictured cutting the ribbon is Marianne Ferris, franchise owner, and her husband Dr. Robert Ferris.  Butterfly Life offers a new concept in women's fitness and weight loss.

A March 12th ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the grand opening of Health Enhancements, PC,  owned by Rebecca Lueckenhoff, MD.  Health Enhancements is located at 1739 E. Elm Court, Ste. 106.  Dr. Lueckenhoff specializes in helping clients balance wellness in body, mind and spirit through restoration of hormone balance and encouraging life style changes to include, but not limited to, optimal nutrition, exercise and weight management.

The Missouri Retired Teachers' Association broke ground on March 10th for their new building at 3030 Dupont Circle.  Pictured (l to r) are MRTA past president Jane Fullerton, president-elect Margaret Elder, MRTA Foundation president Betty Beal, president Larry Beal, past president Ron Marsch, historian Genevieve Lynch, past president Rosemary Bane and 2nd vice president Eleanor Howell.
